Grandma and Papa (Ryan's parents) made Matthew a nice t-shirt to wear to the UVA basketball games.  Hopefully one day we can get Matthew and TB in a picture together :)

I cannot believe Matthew will Be 6 Months Next Tuesday!

Here are few photos I have taken of him in the last week or two.  He just gets more alert and notices what is going on around him.  He definitely knows who mom is too :)  I absolutely LOVE being home with him!

Matthew's Rice Cereal Trial

As the doc said, we are trying a tablespoon of rice cereal a few times before his 6 month appointment next week.  Here is the trial video and a couple pics.  I think he actually really likes it now, he understands when I drink out of my water bottle that he too wants the water bottle.  It is cute considering he hasn't had a bottle in forever, since I am pretty much still exclusively nursing.  As you can tell from the pics he wants to try the spoon himself too.  It has been fun, but I have to admit it has been nice not having to actually prepare any food for him. Attaching him to me is the easy way :)  





I just wonder when he will roll over as he hasn't done that yet.  He gets close :) We'll just wait and see as I am sure he will surprise me one day and then I will wish he wasn't on the move, ha.

Matthew at a little over 5.5 Months :)

Matthew has been hanging out with Owen a few times this week and Owen is really liking Matthew.  He is so gentle and loving towards him.  Owen likes teaching Matthew new things.  The best which I could not capture in a picture today is Matthew was winning in the excer saucer, so Owen gave Matthew Owen's blankie.  He thought he would share since it makes him feel better.  They are so cute together :) Thanks Suzanne for letting me share the fun with Owen!  Matthew and I love hanging out with you all!

Christmas and New Years

We spent our last two weeks of December with Family for Christmas.  We first went down to Raleigh to be with Ryan's family and then we left Abby with his parents and flew out of Raleigh to Cincinnati to see my Dad and his family.  While in Raleigh, we did manage to make a trip to Wake Med ER for Matthew.  I thought he had another ear infection because he cried non-stop for about 5 hrs.  I am not sure what was wrong to this day, but I am going to say it was a combo of him coming down with something so not feeling well along with his separation anxiety.  After arriving in Cincinnati, Matthew still wasn't himself.  He just was crying a whole lot more than normal.  While in Cincinnati, Ryan, Kendra and Kyle attended a Bengals game with my Dad and others he took along.  My Grandma, Matthew and I stayed home becuase it was way too cold out for us!  Matthew, Ryan, Kyle, my Dad and I went to a Xavier Basketball game and then Kyle, Ryan and my Dad attended a UC Basketball game and Xavier, UC and the Bengals all won; a good week for the 'nati :)  towards the end Matthew started getting worse health wise and when we returned we met Ryan's parents at the airport in Raleigh as they had our car packed with Abby and we drove straight to Charlottesville to see Matthew's docs.  He was so sick; his Oxygen level was at 80% and he was so pale and dehydrated.  He had to be on Oxygen and IVs.  The thought he had ammonia, but he had RSV followed by an Ear Infection when we came home.  So, we ended up spending the 31st, 1st, 2nd, and part of the 3rd at Martha Jefferson Hospital Pedeatric Floor.  So that is where we spent our New Years for 2010.  I have pictures to follow.  And now that I am home with Matthew, hopefully my blogging will be better and there will not be such a lapse between postings :)
